The fifth BPO Conference is going on at Hotel InterContinental
The two-day conference, which is going on centrally at the Hotel InterContinental in the capital on Saturday for the fifth time with the intention of crossing the boundaries of business process outsourcing. The conference will hold 9 seminars with the participation of local and foreign BPO experts. There is also an opportunity for the youth to get attractive jobs. Organizations belonging to the BPO industry will showcase their services at 15 stalls. There will also be commercial match making and networking sessions.
At the opening of the conference, the representatives of the best BPO personalities and organizations in four categories and the administrative heads of eight departments will receive the award. Honorable Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will hand over the award to them. On the second day, BPO Summit Bangladesh 2023 representatives of print and electronic media organizations will receive awards from the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar.
The ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak presides over both the opening and closing ceremonies. BACCO President Waheed Sharif will deliver the welcome address at the opening ceremony of the BPO Conference 2023 organized at the Grand Ballroom of the Conference Centre. BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikdar, Information and Communication Technology Division Secretary Md. Samsul Arefin and Directorate General Director Md. Mostafa Kamal are present. The BACCO General Secretary Tauhid Hossain will deliver the note of thanks to the guests and participants.
According to the organizers, four seminars will take place on the first day after the opening ceremony is over. Meanwhile, Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury will conduct a career seminar for young people at BPO at the opening venue at 2:30 pm. At the same time, Charles Wheatley, head of the team representing Bangladesh in the European Union, will conduct a seminar on the potential and challenges of Bangladesh in the global market of the BPO sector at the Crystal Ballroom. At 4:30 pm, a discussion meeting will be held at two venues on global connectivity of BPO organizations in Bangladesh and academia-industry interaction to build future leadership of the BPO sector.
Besides, two separate seminars on how the BPO sector will adapt to the era of artificial intelligence and the formulation of a roadmap for the implementation of Smart Bangladesh will start from 11:00 am on the concluding day. Planning Minister Md. Abdul Mannan and ICT Division Secretary Md. Samsul Arefin will be present as chief guests in both seminars.
After the mid-day break, there will be a round table discussion on the strategy of finding qualified partners according to the needs of the buyers. The freelancer conference will also be held. And the seminar phase will end by 4:30 pm with a special seminar on increasing the growth of the local BPO market. In addition to EPB Vice Chairman AHM Ahsan, experts related to the sector will be present in the seminars. Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce will participate as a special guest in the closing ceremony at 5 pm, this will conclude the Fifth BPO Summit Bangladesh 2023.
Under the initiative of Bangladesh Association of Contact Centers and Outsourcing (BACCO), the entire organization has the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology and the Business Promotion Council as collaborators. In view of this year's conference, for the first time, Divisional Conferences were held for two days in every division outside the capital Dhaka. Meanwhile, Rajshahi division conference was held in Natore district and Khulna division summit was held in Jashore district.
